Semi Finals
Halfway VS Shoppers
Halfway
asserted themselves from the get go in this clash. Fifty three seconds into the
game, JustinYoung, Adam Campana and Sean Young made the fast break move to beat
Brian Losier, who became a dad last week. Congratulations Brian. The boys in
red were moving the puck well but Ray DeVincent was a virtual brick wall for
the first 6 minutes of the game. Halfway’s Adam Campana, Sean Young and Matt
Bader got the next goal at 2:33. Shoppers’
boys settled in and the next few minutes were a fast paced back and forth game.
The Shoppers squad got the next goal at 7:03, Brian Bates and Alex Gardner made
the give and go play and beat Ray with a nifty pass. Thirty seconds later
Halfway’s Justin Young, Sean Young and Adam Campana struck back. That ended the
scoring.
Second:
Good back and forth play started this period. Both squads were moving the puck
and the goalies were making the saves, until 3:27, when Halfway’s Mat Beck, Nick
Sinerate and Matt Bader made the old give and go move. UP and down went the
puck the boys skating hard and making the passes. Shoppers tied the game at
6:59, when Mike MelansonC and Glen SoucyA teamed up to put the puck in the net. More
defensive hockey finished the stanza.
Last
12: Halfway played strong hockey all game, rushing the puck out of their zone
and passing with precision and slicing around the Shoppers boys. The Shoppers
squad looked a little frustrated and their passes were not as crisp as they
usually are. Halfway got the only goals in this period. The first came at 2:14.
Mat Beck and Matt Bader played the give and go game. The last goal came at
3:58, this time it was Sean Young and Adam Campana who did the deed.
Donohue
VS Exline
Donohues
squad was a little light on players with only 3 subs. The Exline boys were at
full strength. The scoring got started when Andrew Clavette, Jamie Venezia and Rugo
SantiniC played team hockey and beat Gary Usseglio on a nice give
and go play at 8:19. That was the only goal of the first. Both squads were
moving the puck with great aclareity and both Jerry Zegarelli and Gary Usseglio
stopped all the remaining shots on goal.
Second
stanza: Exline got more aggressive in this period. They got the first goal at
8:23 on a nice play. Donohues retaliated at 4:04. Jamie Venezia, Matt Spang and
Joe Chaisson made the moves. The Exline squad kept up the pace and got one by Jerry
Zegarelli at 5:48. A short time later Jerry sustained an injury to his knee
while making a spectacular save. He took a couple of minutes down on the ice
but came back to play the rest of the game. Rugo Santini, Jamie Venezia and G
Rotondi made the give and go for the score.
Third
period: The Exline boys got first blood this time. Chris Schremp, Michael
Hurley and John McKay were the gang that made a move on Jerry to put the puck
in the net. Despite being a little shaky He rose to the occasion and played
shut out hockey the rest of the period. Rugo Santini made an end to end rush at
6:59 to get the next goal. The game got a little ugly at this point, while the
majority of the penalties went against Donohue, the Exline boys were getting a
little frustrated at not being able to score and became stick happy. Andrew
Clavette and G Rotondi sealed the deal.
The
Finals: Donohue VS Halfway, the battle of the Titans. First game 3/21 time TBA.
